 Tournament Rules and Guidelines  

1.        Each Team is Guaranteed 3 games. Both Skills divisions are a 2 game Jamboree.

2.        Periods will be 12 minutes with a flood between the 2nd and 3rd. The tournament committee reserves the right to shorten the 3rd period if games are running behind.

3.        If a game has a 5 goal differential at any point in the 3rd period the clock will run straight time for the remainder of the game.

4.        If at any point one team is leading by 8 goals in the 3rd period the game will be terminated.

5.        Forfeited games result in a 1-0 win for the remaining team.

6.        Warm up will be 3 minutes at the start of the game.

7.        Any coaches, players or team officials assessed a match penalty or gross misconduct will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament and the game sheet will be forwarded to Hockey PEI for disciplinary action.

8.        Fighting and verbal abuse of players or officials will not be tolerated.

9.        Anyone assessed a fighting penalty will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.

10.     Any player receiving 4 minor penalties in one game will receive a game misconduct, and eligible to play next game.

11.     Tournament is played under Hockey PEI rules where the tournament rules mentioned do not apply.

12.     Absolutely no time outs!!

13.     All players are asked to be ready 30 minutes prior to the start of the game.

14.     2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie (round robin only)

15.     Top 4 teams advance to Semi Finals. Ex: 6 teams = Top 4 overall, 8 Teams Top 2 from each division, etc…

16.     In the event of a tie for playoff position the following formula will be used

Tie Breaking Formula – Two Teams Tied

1.        Record between teams.

2.        +/- Goals for subtract Goals against.

3.        Most Goals scored for,  for all games

4.        Least Goals against, for all games

5.        Team that scored first in game between the two teams tied.

6.        Time of first goal of tournament.

Tie Braking Formula – Three teams tied

1.        +/- Goals for subtract goals against

2.        Number of goals scored for, all games

3.        Least amount of goals against, for all games

4.        The team with the least amount of penalties in the tournament.

5.        Time of first goal in the tournament.

15.     In the event of a tie at the end of regulation of elimination game (cross-over or final) sudden death overtime will be played to determine a winner. 5 minute stop time period, 5 on 5, followed by 3 player shoot out, and followed by sudden death shoot out.

16.     There will be absolutely no protest’s the officials decision is final.

17.     Any misinterpretation of rules can be clarified by the tournament committee.

18.     Any decisions made by the tournament committee are final and cannot be changed.
