AGM details for Bedeque and Area Minor Hockey Association (BAHMA) and Southside Minor Hockey Association (SSMHA)
During the 2021 and 2022 minor hockey seasons BAHMA and SSMHA operated a pilot to explore the opportunity to join under one association. The pilot concluded at the close of the 2022 season with positive outcomes for both associations. A sub-committee made up of equal representation from both associations was formed and given the following mandate:
• Review feedback and lessons learned during the pilot.
• Develop a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document to assist members in understanding the benefits of joining under one association.
• Draft a new constitution to reflect the geographic boundaries under one association and to strengthen other components of the constitution.
The sub-committee concluded their work and we thank them for their thoughtful and balanced approach. We are now ready to present the new constitution to BAHMA and SSMHA members at their respective Annual General Meetings. A copy of the FAQ and Constitution documents are attached for your review. A 2/3 majority of members present at each AGM is required to pass the new constitution. If passed, the new constitution will be filed with Hockey PEI and tabled for an official vote at the upcoming HPEI AGM. If a 2/3 majority of members present at either AGM does note vote in favor of the new constitution both associations will continue to operate as separate entities.
All members of the Board of Directors, coaches, managers, referees, committee members, volunteers and either or both parents or guardians of players whose dues have been paid in full to the treasurer by the time of the annual meeting are eligible to vote.

• SSMHA AGM to be held June 4th @ 6pm at the Bedeque and Area Recreation Centre (Bedeque Rink).
• BAHMA AGM will be held on June 5th @ 7pm at the Bedeque and Area Recreation Centre (Bedeque Rink).
